Dr. Justin West

Dr. Justin West is a board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in complex reconstructive surgery. As the son of a nurse and surgeon, Dr. West knew at a very young age he would pursue a career in medicine. Dr. West received his Bachelor of Arts from Pomona College in Claremont, CA and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He then interned in the surgical laboratory at the University of California, Irvine where he helped test new technologies for heart bypass surgery. During this time he published journal articles in the fields of trauma and cardiac surgery.
He attended the prestigious six-year integrated residency program in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, where he trained under world-renowned surgeons in the fields of aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery. After completing his residency, Dr. West pursued a subspecialty in aesthetic surgery at the distinguished Manhattan, Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital.
During this year, he gained extensive experience and studied advanced techniques in cosmetic surgery of the face and body under the direction of internationally recognized experts. He was also a mentor and instructor for plastic surgery residents from NYU and Cornell University.
Dr. West believes in educating and empowering patients to make well-informed decisions about their care, and works tirelessly to ensure that patients achieve their individual surgical goals. Dr. West and Dr. Schwartz trained together at Georgetown and have treated lipedema and other complex surgical diseases together since 2010.
